Instructor intro: Rebecca Thomas
Hola SCH Ecuador crew,
My name is Rebecca and I will be your Program Instructor on our upcoming adventure to Ecuador & the Galapagos. This will be my fourth time on the road with a group from SCH and I've been lucky to travel to some incredible places with your peers and teachers over the years, including Cambodia, Thailand & Cuba.
I've been leading international programs for almost 10 years now and an instructor for Pacific Discovery since 2013. I have a deep passion for leading students on experiential adventures across the world. When not on the road, I call Maine my home. I lead local outdoor educational adventures for high school students like yourselves on hiking, skiing and camping programs during the school year. In my free time, I love to hike with my dog, garden, cook and do lots of yoga.
I hope you are all getting super excited for our journey in Ecuador and I'm really looking forward to exploring this amazing region with you. We've got an awesome itinerary planned, including exploring Quito's old town, homestaying with lovely families in the community, plus we get the chance to go to the Galapagos to hang out with penguins, sea lions and learn about the unique history of these islands. As you start to get prepped for the program, I highly encourage you to do a little reading about Ecuador and practicing a few key Spanish words!
Please reach out with any questions and I'll see you in Quito.
