Instructor Intro: Beth Farrell
G’day and Kia Ora incoming Australia and New Zealand explorers!
I’m just writing to introduce myself and let you know that I am super stoked for our travels ahead! My name is Beth, and together with Stacey will be supporting your journey through two of my favourite countries in the world!
I was born in Oz, growing up on a small island in tropical north Queensland. This had me running around in the wilderness, swinging from trees, riding bikes, and exploring beautiful beaches with mates, which is not too far a stretch from how I spend my free time these days. I have found these outdoor adventures to be heaps of fun, as well as times when I have learnt a lot about myself, the world around me, and the people who are a part of them. As a result, I really value these such experiences, and get the most enjoyment from celebrating them with others. So as you can imagine, I’m super excited to be exploring Australia and New Zealand with you very soon!
In no time at all we’re going to be surfing sweet little waves, hiking through diverse and wild forest, paddling down mystical rivers, snorkelling in an underwater wonderland, and climbing rocks in breathtaking mountains! As well as this, we will have a chance to learn about the land we are travelling through and the people who call it home, and get an opportunity to chip in with our muscle to help conserve these precious natural environments in our service learning projects.
For this whole experience to flow well I highly recommend bringing an open mind, and a light pack - check over the gear list Pacific Discovery has sent you, as you need only these essential items and nothing more - and be sure to leave some room for souvenirs!
If you have any questions at all please drop us a line, otherwise take care of yourself over the next few weeks and Stacey and I will see you at the airport in Brisbane!
